W elcome to Ateria.net.
Ateria is a fantasy world for use with the 5th edition of Hackmaster, the role-playing game, produced by Kenzer and Company. Here you can find all the information you need to successfully run a campaign in Ateria. In addition you will find information about the campaigns I run in Ateria and my games of Aces and Eights, the western themed role-playing game, also produced by Kenzer and Company. Free content will also be added that will include adventures and other utilities to aid game masters in running a successful campaign. Finally you can find samples of my writing and cartography.

Site Updates:

4/28/10: I am currently working on revamping this site with a complete overhaul. This is to incorporate more of a blog style site but also to make this place a bit easier to navigate while adding some new content. This could take a bit of time but I will get it done as fast as possible. Hang in there.

1/20/10: Well secret things are underway. I am currently writing several game products that will be released this year. In addition I am also beginning a Hackmaster Basic campaign set in the Kingdoms of Kalamar. This is somewhat significant because it will be the first time in roughly a decade I haven't used my own campaign world with a couple short exceptions. I am not entirely sure how I feel about this but it should be great. Kalamar is a fantastic campaign world. I added a section for Kalamar stuff on the site. I will have several free adventures for Aces and Eights and Hackmaster to download hopefully in the next few months as well as some other fun surprises.
12/02/09: I apologize for the delay in updates. Several factors have prevented me from working on this site. Real life work, a party TPK, and an imploded computer put any progress I had on hold for about a month. I am just starting to get out from the pile of work I am behind on and with some real life changes coming this month there probably won't be any major updates until after the new year. However 2010 looks like a promising year for freelance work and gaming products with my name on them and a lot of updates to the site, so please hang around!
10/14/09: Just one quick update today. Added a recap of our last few Hackmaster sessions. I am hoping to get this big update I have been working on done and posted this weekend but no promises.
9/18/09: sorry for the delay in updates. I have been extremely busy. Hopefully I should have some time to add a ton of content I have been working on. 7/13/09: Ugh, been a month since the last update. I have been super busy with work and writing projects but I will be adding Hackmaster recap sessions from the games we have played as well as some other campaign stuff to the site this week. Also Fool's Gold is out and available for purchase here
6/12/09: I have been absolutely swamped with writing work, so much so that I haven't been able to do much updating here. I am currently bogged down with two game supplements I have to finish by early July as well as a steady contract writing job that will eat up a fair amount of my time. Once my schedule is set next week I will go back to adding more stuff to the Ateria portion of the site. My schedule will probably limit the number of Aces and Eights sessions until later this month, and with the arrival of Hackmaster we will probably change gears and focus on that game when it shows up. Don't expect too many more Aces and Eights session recaps for a while at least. However once Hackmaster arrives towards the end of the month we will begin playing that and should have updates on sessions two-three times a month.
5/27/09: Added session #2 of my Aces and Eights session. Will be updating a lot of the pages on the Ateria world site the next couple days. Adding more information to many of the existing pages.
5/18/09: Over the next couple weeks I will be adding some map pages like the one I put up today. These are quite cumbersome because of all the images and the re-sizing but I am working on ways to compile the maps into one image and reducing the size of it. Some of the map links may be broken or work one day then not the next. I will do my best to get the world maps up as quickly as possible while keeping them as small and manageable (if I can)
5/17/09: Added some more world information including a campaign current event and the empire of arch. Will try to get some more stuff up later today.
5/12/09: To fill the time before Hackmaster 5th comes out we have started to play some Aces and Eights again! Added a session recap and rewards for the 1st session of the Broken Wheel Campaign in the Aces and Eights section. Next session will be 5/25/09.
4/29/09: Put the first portion of the gods up. Descriptors will come a bit later as I am continuing to work on those. Changed some art and added some other things like a legal disclaimer and whatever else I did that I forgot about already.
4/27/09: Added a few tidbits into the World of Ateria section and will continue to do so throughout the week. Funny how much of this was written years ago, I am discovering some fun stuff I had completely forgotten about. Some of this was written in 2001 and 2002, including the Riddle of Steel I just posted in the fiction section.
4/25/09: I have begun to add specific world information about Ateria to the site, including maps. The presentation of the world information will be a work in progress and may change over the coming weeks.
4/21/09: Updated the look of the site and added the World of Ateria page, which is, and will remain a work in progress for some time as I ramp up for the release of Hackmaster 5th edition, which should arrive on store shelves by the end of June, or so I hope. Lots of work to do in the meantime!
4/16/09: Added writing credits to the site.
2/26/09: Site is live and under construction. Check back often as updates will follow on a regular basis.

• 6/22/09: Eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new copy of Hackmaster Basic. Pre-orders shipped last week, also Fool's Gold has finally arrived as well! Both will be available at Origins and on Kenzer's web site after the convention.

• 4/16/09: Great news. Fool's Gold, the first adventure I have written for Kenzer and Company for the Aces and Eights role-playing game is finally coming! July 09 at the latest, but could be sooner. Check it out here.
