Coral Islands

Off the western shore of the southern continent that comprises the kingdom of Al’Ridar rests a string of volcanic islands known as the Coral Islands. Called so for the large amounts of coral that lie just below the surface of the water. Navigation is extremely difficult at the best of times. The islands are home to the lawless pirates that plague the Sea of Gods. While not overly large the islands serve as the perfect place for pirates to operate from. The coral prevents any sort of fast invasion from taking place and the distance from the mainland makes it a large effort to launch an attack. In addition the islands have several hidden coves and caves that are perfect for hiding goods, ships, and men. These factors make it difficult for any form of government to root out the pirates allowing them to patrol the seas picking off trade ships with impunity.

While there are many small villages only one large city occupies the islands, a place called Black Wash. Lawless, chaotic, and dangerous the city is a den of thieves, pirates, villains, and in many cases monsters. The only organized temples in town are to dark gods and Wartak, God of the Sea. The people of Coral Reef have little regard for authority or rules. They live by the rule that might makes right and take what you need or want. Many craftsmen, farmers, and peasants have moved to the islands over the years, hoping to throw off the yoke of king and country and most have regretted the decision. Those who are able to keep what is theirs and defend themselves have found an island oasis overrun by chaos and lawlessness.
