Brief Timeline

The measure of time is calculated differently in each region and depends on how long the people have been measuring time. Below are the current years in the various regions. While it is important to have a general idea of the current year players shouldn’t concern themselves too much with it. Most people don’t worry about the year instead focusing on the upcoming seasons. Winter turns to spring, to summer, and to fall. In addition many people aren’t even sure how old they are let alone what year it is. The years and timelines are presented mostly as a point of reference.

Coral Islands: As Al’Ridar

Dragon’s Maw Region: 867. The first year is counted as being the year man settled Eiris City, the oldest city in the region.

Island of Gorrish: 1321. The gnomes of Gorrish have records that date back to the founding of their island community and the great exodus from the mainland.

Kingdom of Al’Ridar: 1875. The people of Al’Ridar are varied in their opinion on the current year and many different records exist throughout the country but the official year is that which is recognized by the Pharaoh and the people accept that. Al’Ridar is considered to have been the cradle of life and it is likely people evolved here long before the dates used to measure time.

Northland: 673. The men of the north measure time by the passing of the winter. Winter drags on for many more months than in the south accounting for the great difference in record keeping.

Silsour: 1194. Elves from Silsour measure time differently than most, not counting a full cycle of seasons but instead counting seasons on a bi-annual basis. Records from the elven homeland are confusing and the elves, unlike the dwarves, place little emphasis on exact records.

Talsack: 2319. The dwarven kingdom of Talsack has records etched into cavern walls that date as far back as 2319, therefore they count time in that manner. Most of the living dwarves of the kingdom can only trace their blood lines back fifteen hundred years though, leaving many to wonder if some terrible event happened sometime in between.
