Falling between several kingdoms the Wildlands consists of a large area of land that is unclaimed by any nation. Unlike the Free Cities the cities and towns of the Wildlands do little to aid one another in fact many communities consider themselves in direct competition with one another and in some cases even at war. The frontier land is also overrun by large bands of non-human creatures that move through the area destroying and raiding as they see fit. As expected many of the towns are heavily fortified and well guarded. Each city and town has it’s own set of laws and form of government and careless travelers have often found themselves in trouble after failing to adhere to the local regulations. Once much of the Wildlands was claimed by Silidor and the elves of Silsour and the presence of both nations can be felt there still today. The natives speak Silan and large bands of elves can still be found in the forests.
Over the years there have been several attempts by nations to claim cities or land located in the Wildlands and most have failed. Silidor was able to rule the area for the longest period of time but when the northern reaches of the kingdom fell and the Kingdom of Bann was established the Silan government reestablished the borders farther south. Since that time the people of the Wildlands have held great resentment towards Silidor for abandoning them although the act help to fueled their independent and rebellious spirit.
